Last month, Gil Chaouat (Axxana’s Director of Product Management), Richard Hubble (Axxana’s UK Sales Director), and other Axxana team members attended the two-day Oracle OpenWorld Europe conference and exhibition at the ExCeL Centre in London. As the largest annual Oracle trade show outside North America, and with a reported 10,000 delegates and exhibitors, the event drew some of the best minds and vendors in the IT industry.
It was great to see so many of you there and to show you the inner workings of the Phoenix Black Box—our “secret weapon” for ensuring continuous application availability in any topology. Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a visit, had some laughs with us, exchanged ideas, and let us share our passion for innovation that solves real-world problems.
The number one topic at the event was moving to cloud-based services (specifically the Oracle Cloud, of course), but the introduction of artificial intelligence and automation/bots was also a popular theme. With all the conference buzz around Oracle Generation 2 Cloud, many organizations are assessing whether they can safely move disaster recovery for mission-critical applications to the hybrid cloud and disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) solutions.
Until now, organizations could not achieve continuous availability when they opted for disaster recovery in the cloud. This is because the increased latency and high communications costs associated with replication to the cloud make synchronous replication infeasible. Without synchronous replication, data loss—along with protracted recovery times and downtime—is guaranteed. Axxana’s Phoenix solutions for the cloud overcome these drawbacks by providing true zero data loss as a service (ZDLaaS) and continuous application availability. They’re gaining momentum as the world’s top cloud platform providers embrace them. Stay tuned for exciting announcements!
We look forward to seeing you soon again. In the meantime, we wish you continued success in all your endeavors.
